Eyebrows Aftercare
Come to your appointment with your eyebrows penciled inthe way you would like them to be (This is optinal).
If you get your eyebrows waxed or tinted, please have this done at least 72 hours prior to your scheduled procedure. It is reccommended to wait at least a week to have them waxed after the procedure.
Swelling: Very slight. A little redness in the immediate area.
Moisture: Keep the area of pigmentation to moist 4 times per day; morning, night and twice in-between with aquaphore for a minimum of 3 days. If a crust appears on the pigmented surface DO NOT FORCE THE REMOVAL BY PICKING, STRATCHING, OR WASHING!!!! PIGMENTATIONS MAY BE REMOVED ALONG WITH THE CRUST.
For the 1st week of care avoid:
-
Soaps, facial cleansers, water on pigmented area
-
Washing pigmented areas
-
Chlorine pools
-
Makeupon pigmented areas
-
for 5 days, including non-allergenic
-
Hot, steamy, long showers
-
Sun on pigmented areas
-
Sauas or jacuzzi
-
Terry towels on pigmented areas
-
Shower with your back to the water to avoid the water, shampoo, and conditioner from the pigmented areas.
Do not be alarmed by the fading aftere the first application. The final color cannot be judged until at least 3 weeks after the touchup applications are completed. This is the reason follow-ups are required.
Regular makeup can be worn immediately after your procedure, just not on the treated areas until fully healed. Absolutely NOTHING on the brows.
The eyebrows WILL appear bolder immediately after the procedure..this is common in all Permanent Makeup applications…it will begin to soften up after a few days. Hair strokes appear crisp and bold at first, but will soften up as the tissue heals.
It is very common to have areas fade more so than others..this is part of the healing process and will be treated at the recommended touch up appointment. Previously done eyebrows may take 1-3 treatments to achieve the desired result. Scar tissue in the brow area of eyebrows done multiple times WILL require additional procedures and fees will apply. Only use the Vaseline (a very thin coat, if you see it, you have too much on) on the treated area for 10 days.
Clients with darker skin please know that the hair strokes and eyeliners WILL NOT appear as defined or as dark as lighter skin types due to the skin color already being naturally darker.
Eyeliner Aftercare
Swelling: Moderate. An ice bag should be applied for the first few hours. Ten minutes on and ten minutes off. Following the procedure, you may find the area slightly puffy for the first few mornings. Either thinly sliced cucumbers or an ice bad placed on the eyed on the second day for a few minutes in the morning along with sleeping somewhat propped up on your back will make a difference if you know that you have a tendency to swell.
Use only Artificial Tears product to moisten and cleanse eye area.
Avoid:
· Contact lenses the day of the procedure
· Driving (for 8 hours following procedure)
· Chlorine pools for one (1) week
· Soaps, facial cleansers on pigmented area for 2-3 days
· Eye makeup for 5 days until flaking is finished (included non-
allergenic)
· Jacuzzi, sauna for 2-3 days
· Retin A on pigmented area for 1 week
· Hot, long, steamy showers
· Eyelash curlers for 2-3 days
· Terry towels on pigmented area for 2-3 days
· Mascara for 5 days then begin with NEW mascara
DO NOT USE oily makeup remover, baby oil, mineral oil or heavy creams, especially glycolics around the eyes.
Shower with your back to the water to avoid water, shampoo and conditioner from getting into the pigmented area.
IF EYES BECOME INFECTED, call your physician and obtain prescription for eye drops.
Do not be alarmed by fading after first application. The final color cannot be judged until 3 weeks after touch up applications are completed.
Clean contacts can be worn 72 hrs after the procedure. You cannot use Saline to wet the eyes. Only Sterile Water…check that the wash is NOT SALINE..it will fade the liner out instantly.
Only use the Aftercare Lotion provided to you after the procedure for 10 days, or as needed, you cannot over use them. DO NOT USE TOO MUCH AFTERCARE LOTION ON THE LINER AS IT CAN IRRITATE YOUR EYES, IN THIS CASE, MORE IS NOT BETTER.
Eyeliner can and will have some residual pigment that may peel or flake off after a couple days(in most cases)..that is ok..eyeliner tends to fade more so than brows due to the moisture in the eye area. After the touch up the color stay better and lasts longer….Eyeliner will take 2-3 procedures!
Lips Aftercare
Moisture: Lips will tend to be very dry. Keep them moist with AFTERCARE LOTION ONLY. Some peeling may occur. DO NOT PEEL OFF! Do not wipe your lips with a napkin while eating blot instead. Drink through a straw. Lips have a tendency to fade up to 60% after the first procedure.
Lips will fade about 50% after the first three days into a natural shade. While healing, the tattoo will look spotty.
Swelling: Moderate. An ice bag should be applied for the first few hours for ten (10) minutes on and ten minutes off.
Avoid:
· Chlorine pools for 1 week
· Retin A on the lips
· Drinking without a straw
· Hot, long, steamy showers
· Sun on pigmented area for 2-3 days
· Soaps, facial cleansers on pigmented area for 2-3 days
· Terry towels on pigmented area for 2-3 days
· Any topical product such as Chapstick, Blistex, Ambesol. USE ONLY
AQUAPHORE OR EMU OIL.
· Rubbing lips with wash cloth wash around lips carefully
Be careful as you pull on shirts or other garments over your face that you don’t brush the new tattoo accidentally. Also, don’t put any makeup on, particularly just after treatment. You might cause an infection or otherwise damage the tattoo. In the case of food, it may be challenging for a while to eat with tattooed lips, but it can be done. Avoid biting or licking your lips as much as possible, and make sure no food or drink stays on there.
Aftercare: Avoid Contact with Clothing, Makeup, Food and Sunlight. Take care not to expose your face to the sun for about two weeks after you get your tattoo. The sun will fade the pigment, which is still settling into your skin. Even after the tattoos have healed, be consistent with applying sunscreen to those areas of your face, to avoid fading. Lips can take 1-3 treatments for desired depth of color. Keeping lips moist daily will lengthen the time the pigment will last…everyone heals different.
Very Important: If you get cold sores or have ever had one in the past, you will need an antiviral prescription from your doctor before a lip procedure. Physicians usually instruct to take it 2 days before. As this procedure will bring out the virus if not medicated beforehand.
